End of Pregnancy / Third Trimester Consultation
90 minute consultation with Beth S. Barbeau, CPM, LM
All in-person pregnancy consultations can include βregularβ midwife care such as vital signs and checking the baby with palpation and a fetascope or doppler; itβs also super easy to include empowering DIY in a virtual prenatal. βDual Careβ packages can be arranged to compliment your OB/CNM care, providing warm, mother/baby-centered care emphasizing education and empowerment through birth and postpartum. This appointment could also serve as Ala Carte prenatal care before you have settled on a provider, just moved or are visiting the SE Michigan area during your pregnancy. Below are some ideas of the topics you may wish to cover.
Β· Why your babyβs position matters, and what simple things to do about it
Β· How to do the REAL kick tests to monitor your babyβs well-being
Β· Prepping your body, mind and baby for birth
Β· What to do if you have increasing swelling or edema
Β· Health issues (and some solutions) that sometimes come up
Β· How to tell the difference between βFalse laborβ and βReal laborβ
Β· The absolutely most important thing in the whole world to do when you think you might be in labor
Β· When to go to the hospital (or call your midwife) in labor
Β· Setting the stage for satisfying breastfeeding
Β· The 5 things you canβt forget when strategizing for a smooth postpartum
Β· Bethβs list of breastfeeding and infant feeding books and resources
Β· Check-list for birth supplies/suitcase (all locations)
